FlexCharging Enters Ireland with ESB Networks, Surpasses Competitor Challenges, and Unveils EVision 2.1
There is a lot to unpack here so please feel free to reach out to me for more details
🇮🇪 ESB Networks Supports Ireland Launch
We are delighted to announce that we have launched FlexCharging in Ireland with support from ESB Networks, Ireland’s national electric utility network operator. This relationship originated from FlexCharging's participation in the Free Electrons program. Together, we are researching a new way of integrating EVs into the grid that goes beyond the basics of managed charging and implements a “Dynamic EV Demand Response” signal from the utility. When successful, this program will roll out nationwide to Ireland’s 110,000+ EVs!
Note: ESB worked with EV.Energy on a pilot and came away looking for a different partner to move forward with, choosing us to fill that role.
🔍 Major issues caused by our competitors
National Grid, who is a major investor in our competitor EV.Energy, released a report that calls out several major shortcomings and ongoing technical challenges they face with EV.Energy as a vendor for their EV managed charging program.
I wrote a synopsis with a link to the full National Grid report you can review.
“National Grid’s Analysis of EV.Energy“
This matches similar feedback we have heard from Peninsula Clean Energy, ConEdison, AGL, Eversource, and others about our competitors.
Announcing EVision 2.1
Several of the issues outlined in the National Grid report have already been resolved by the FlexCharging team. Those solutions, and other major improvements, are included in our recently announced product update, EVision 2.1.
